Our spy photographers have managed to capture the facelifted version of the Hyundai ix20 on camera while it was being tested out.
After the Kia Venga has received a facelift just a few months ago, time has come to talk about its cousin, the Hyundai ix20, which will receive the same recipe. The images posted below are showing us a test mule of the small MPV and despite wearing some heavy camouflage on its body, this will be nothing more than a simple facelift. Some of the modifications expected for it are the obvious front and rear bumpers, the redesigned headlights and taillights and probably some minor tweaks made to the cabin, so adding all that camouflage makes no sense, unless the carmaker is trying to surprise us with something new.
Mechanically speaking, the facelifted version of the Hyundai ix20 will be left unchanged, compared to the current model, so we are expecting the same 1.4 liter Gamma I4 with 89 HP (66 kW) and the 1.6 liter Gamma I4 with 123 HP (92 kW) petrol burners, along with the 1.4 liter producing 89 HP (66 kW) and the 1.6 liter with 114 HP (85 kW) diesel units. These will be connected to the same 5-speed manual, to the 6-dpeed manual or to the 4-speed automatic transmission. The 2016 Hyundai ix20 is expected to be officially unveiled this autumn, during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. More details on it are limited for the moment and will be announced during its official presentation.
