The newest carmaker to plan a new compact crossover is Hyundai which should be introducing its new model over the next few years.
The Nissan Juke was a real path opener in a brand new segment, that of compact crossovers, and since then, a lot of rivals have developed similar vehicles, such as the Peugeot 2008, the Opel Mokka, the Chevrolet Trax, the Ford EcoSport, the Renault Captur and so on. The newest company to plan a model in the B-segment for crossovers is Hyundai, which will be targeting first-time young buyers with its new vehicle.
According to the South Korean based automaker, which has used the “voice” of Dave Zuchowski, the company’s America CEO, in a recent interview with the guys from Edmunds, the model in question will not be looking like a scaled down version of the Tucson, because it will have some edgy lines, similar to the ones of the Juke. Chances are it won’t look anything like the ix25 Concept either, which was shown in Beijing earlier this year. The new compact crossover is believed to come to life somewhere in 2016, but additional details on it remain unknown for the moment.
