Just recently our spy photographers caught a glimpse of the models’ disguised looks and now the South Korean automaker has decided to offer us a preview of the model that should be launched soon across the European markets.
The sketches reveal much of the design of the new light commercial vehicle, scheduled for the official premiere during the 2014 IAA Commercial Vehicles show, which takes place in Hanover at the end of the month.
This is the first LCV developed especially by the South Korean giant for the European market, aimed at rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Fiat Ducato and others. The flexible platform that is based upon will allow numerous configurations for the model that slots above the H1 van: cargo van, minibus and flatbed truck. For sure, the clients will be met by additional configurations on the three body styles.
The exterior design is heavily influenced by Hyundai’s passenger cars, featuring a large, hexagonal grille that flows nicely with the big headlights. Another cue from the passenger line-up is the integration of LED daytime running lights.
The model will be produced by one of Hyundai’s longest regional partners, Karsan Otomotiv Sanayil ve Ticaret A.S, a Turkish manufacturer with experience in building commercial vehicles. The H350 will be garnished with a passenger car-like interior as well, with a multifunction, four-spoke steering wheel and large centre console. Commercial duties will be taken care of the large storage capacity – 1.4 tonnes payload capacity and up to 2.5 tonnes when towing.
