The Hyundai Motor America has announced a customer service campaign which will address complaints about steering pull in the 2011 made Sonata model, equipped with the 18 inch wheels.
After receiving numerous complaints from its customers, the company said that the problem is not safety-related and the 2011 Sonata will not be recalled.
“I don’t want to downplay it, but it’s a slight drift to the left. Some people notice it, where others don’t. It’s not safety-related at all, it’s just an annoyance”, told the Hyundai Motor America spokesman James P. Trainor to Inside Line.
Even though the South Korean auto maker has decided not to recall the 2011 made Sonata model, the dealerships will check the wheel alignment on the car and how the vehicle tracks and if necessary a new front suspension struts will be installed.
According to the car manufacturer, the problem will be fixed at no charge for the Sonatas made between September 1 2010 and April 30 2011.
This isn’t the first time the Sonata model has problems and last September more than 100.000 vehicles were recalled for a problem with the steering.
