The South Korean automaker has decided to push upmarket and its efforts include the Genesis luxury brand but also the release of more premium versions of its regular models.
For example the Azera midsize sedan is getting ready to reach its sixth installment, and the styling at least shows us a completely different take on the model compared to the ongoing generation. Usually teaser sketches are more positive than the real version but even if the Azera gets toned down it will still look way more promising than the outgoing model – and these renders don’t seem to be way to exaggerated to begin with. The exterior design actually would easily look the part if the Genesis badge was slapped on the front and rear, and we’re hoping the real deal will retain as many elements possible.
We’re also holding our breath for an equally impressive interior that will look the part with this complete generational changeover. There are no technical details available yet but we believe the Azera to have been stretched a little in order to accommodate a bigger wheelbase for more backseat space. The engines could include the company’s new biturbo 3.3-liter V6 linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while some markets will even get a plug in hybrid version.
