The South Korean based automaker Hyundai has officially pulled the wraps off the 2014 i20 WRC and it has also announced its first ever N performance sub-brand, during an event held in Frankfurt.
The brand new 2014 Hyundai i20 WRC has finally seen daylight for the first time in an official way, during an event held in Frankfurt. At the same presentation, the car manufacturer has also announced the first details on the N performance sub-brand, on which we have talked about here.
“In less than one year, we have built and tested a brand new WRC-specification car, the Hyundai i20 WRC, and established a professional team and modern motorsport facility”, said Michel Nandan, the Team Principal of Hyundai Motorsport GmbH. “Our aims for 2014 are realistic: we want to finish each rally with both cars and build up a database of information and experience so we can develop ourselves into prospective rally winners in the future”, he added.
The 2014 Hyundai i20 WRC pictured below was sharing the same space with Thierry Neuville, at its official presentation, the team’s lead driver, and with Juho Hanninen, who will drive the second car. Dani Sordo and Chris Atkinson are also part of the Hyundai Shell World Rally Team. Performance details on the brand new 2014 Hyundai i20 WRC remain unknown, for obvious reasons, but we expect the carmaker to “throw us a bone” eventually.
