Hyundai Veloster Turbo going to Detroit image

The South Korean based automaker Hyundai is planning to reveal a hot version of the Veloster, which will wear the Turbo name, at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.

Even if the fact that Hyundai is planning to reveal the Veloster Turbo in the nearby future isn’t that new, after we’ve talked about it a while ago, we actually didn’t knew, until today when the model will be revealed. According to the car manufacturer, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo will be officially presented to the public at the upcoming 2012 North American International Auto Show, in Detroit. After having the looks of a hot-hatch, the Hyundai Veloster will soon become that hot-hatch, thanks to its automaker and the its newest turbocharged version.

The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo is expected to be powered by the 1.6 liter Gamma GDI four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is also used, under a different form, in the standard Veloster. The unit will bow develop, thanks to the twin-scroll turbocharger, an estimated 204 horsepower and a peak torque of 195 lb-ft. The engine will be mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The model is expected to come with a more aggressive body kit and some minor changes on the inside too, but full details will be announced at its official launch.
