Hyundai has announced its intention to introduce a concept version of the Veloster Turbo at the 2012 SEMA Motor Show, which will get 400 HP.
According to the South Korean based automaker, the Hyundai Veloster Turbo in question will be named the Velocity and it will get an impressive 400 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque compared to its standard 201 HP and 195 lb-ft of torque.
“In creating Velocity, we were inspired to take the Veloster’s original concept strengths to their fullest expression. Velocity gave our design and engineering teams license to take Veloster far beyond everyday production car limitations”, said the head of Hyundai’s Irvine, California design center, Chris Chapman.
In order to handle the 400 horsepower provided by its engine, the Hyundai Velocity is getting a Brembo braking package with four-piton calipers and a new suspension with Bilstein springs and monotube dampers, along with a fresh set of Kumho Ecsta SPT 275/35R19 high performance summer tires to cover the 19-inch rims. Other modifications include the wide body kit, the Katzkin custom suede leather interior and the rolls bar. Additional details on the Hyundai Velocity will be announced at the 2012 SEMA Motor Show in Las Vegas.
