The brand new Icona Vulcano supercar might hit the market in a limited production number.
The Italian based automaker has big plans for the brand new Icona Vulcano as the company is planning to put it into production. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys at Autocar, the carmaker is currently negotiating with several investors to gain funds for a limited production of the Icona Vulcano.
“We can’t wait to see the first customers, we are discussing this right now and hopefully the early customers will come. With that will come the possibility of developing more engine combinations”, said Samuel Chuffart, the Icona design director.
The Icona Vulcano has been officially unveiled during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. the model in question has a V12 engine and an electric motor, which are producing a total output of 950 HP. The track variant will be powered by a V6 unit. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration will take less than 2 seconds and top speed will stand at 217 mph. The Icona Vulcano is expected to become a rival for the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. Prices for the final production version are rumored to stand at 1.9m GBP.
