The new generation of the Skoda Octavia will be launched in India in August and it will represent the first MQB car from the VW Group to make its way into the Asian country.
After it was officially presented to the public back in March, during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere, the new generation of the Skoda Octavia, which is wearing the 2014 model year in its name, is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker announcing its Indian launch. According to the car manufacturer, the new Octavia generation will arrive on the Indian auto market next month.
The 2014 Skoda Octavia is bigger, roomier and lighter than the model it replaces and in the Asian country, you can expected the 1.8 liter TSI turbo petrol engine to be retained, along with the 2.0 liter TDI diesel unit. The petrol engine should be mated to either a six-speed manual or to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, while the diesel will only get a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. Additional details on the 2014 Skoda Octavia aimed towards India, including its price list, are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its launch.
