Skoda has recently announced the launch of the Rapid Prestige special edition in India, where the model is now available to its future customers from Rs. 9 lakh.
After entering production in the Asian country almost a year and a half ago, at the end of 2011, the Skoda Rapid is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker announcing a special edition aimed towards the Indian market. According to the car manufacturer, the Skoda Rapid’s special edition is named the Prestige and the model is already available for its future customers, who will have to pay Rs. 9 lakh before being able to drive their new cars home.
The Skoda Rapid Prestige special edition is coming with some extra features like the parking sensors, the textile floor mats or the satellite navigation system. The model has “Prestige” badges on its side, on the exterior, and this is the only thing differentiating it from the regular version. As for the engine, the Skoda Rapid Prestige special edition is available only with the 1.6 liter diesel, which is producing a total output of 105 BHP. Prices for the model have been set at Rs. 9 lakh in India and this is the only country offering it, for the moment. Keep in mind that the Indian Rapid is different than the European one, especially in the materials used to make it.
