The North American based automaker Ford has recently unveiled the Indian-spec EcoSport but an exact launch date for the crossover hasn’t been announced just yet.
According to the car manufacturer, the Indian version of the Ford EcoSport will come in four versions with a choice of three engines. Future owners of the Indian Ford EcoSport will have to choose between the 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engines used in the current Fiesta and the more interesting 1.0 liter EcoBoost turbocharged, which can produce a total output of 122 BHP. All units will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission while the 1.5 liter petrol will get an automatic option.
The cabin of the Indian-spec Ford EcoSport is sharing a lot of parts with the Ford Fiesta, the seats are offering a high position, the boot space is decent, considering the fact that this is a B-segment crossover, the plastic quality is also decent, the Titanium version has rear parking sensors, the company’s Sync system and a push-button start amongst others. The local automotive media is saying that the Indian Ford EcoSport will cost around Rs 6-8 lakh, even if this hasn’t been announced yet.
