The Romanian based automaker Dacia might launch the Indian-made Duster in Malaysia sometimes next year.
With the Dacia Duster going on sale in the United Kingdom from January 2013, the carmaker is currently looking for new markets to sell its cheap vehicle and one of those markets which might receive the SUV might just be Malaysia. But the Asian country won’t get an European made version and the one which is expected to be launched there will be produced in India and it will probably arrive with Renault badges all over its body.
Unfortunately we don’t have any more details on the Dacia Duster aimed towards Malaysia for the moment but as a quick reminder, Dacia Duster has a starting price of 8,995 GBP in the United Kingdom for the base entry-level version and the cheapest variant of the SUV is coming with a 1.6 liter gasoline engine, which is producing a total output of 104 horsepower, sent to the front-wheel drive system. If you prefer a diesel, you can choose between the two configurations of the 1.5 dCi unit, with its 85 HP and 105 HP. This version of the Romanian SUV is coming with a permanent all-wheel drive system and if you choose the Ambiance trim, you will get USB, Bluetooth and a CD player, while the high-end version, the Laureate, which starts at 12,995 pounds for the FWD, is adding leather trimmed steering wheel, air conditioning and 16-inch alloy wheels, amongst others.
