We’re looking at an unprecedented assault of Formula One collaborations – the automakers are more and more keen to point out how the queen of motorsport competitions is really influencing the mainstream part of the automotive industry. By the way, Infiniti itself has been playing with the idea of having a hardcore model to fight the likes of Lexus for quite some time – the Q50 Eau Rouge even had a chance at production at least one time. We’re hoping this time around the company is not going to drop the upcoming Project Black S as well – and deliver a high performance model based on the great looking Q60.

Partnering with the Renault F1 team, the model set to premiere in front of the worldwide audience of the Geneva Motor Show is surely there to test the waters for a possible production series. The first pictures denote an aggressive coupe that has been developed starting from the Q60 Red Sport 400, and thus makes use of the biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine packing 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts) – the same as on the standard production model. But for this prototype there’s also an electric assist system for a power upgrade of approximately 500 hp. The electrification part comes courtesy of a separate motor generator that is also capable of storing the energy from braking and exhaust gas heat inside a lithium-ion battery pack. When needed ,it will power the crankshaft and turbo compressor.
