Nissan’s luxury brand Infiniti is planning to put the Emerg-E into production and the model might be based on the same chassis used by the Lotus Evora.
The Japanese based automaker Nissan isn’t saying anything official on this subject for the moment but that doesn’t mean that the Infiniti Emerg-E won’t hit the production line, especially because this rumor has been around for quite some time. According to the guys at the final production version of the Infiniti Emerg-E concept car will be made on the same chassis used by the Lotus Evora and it will also share many components with the Evora 414E EV concept.
Our source is saying that just like the Evora 414E, the Infiniti Emerg-E will be powered by two electric motor which are “moving” the rear wheels, along with an I-3 1.2 liter range extender, which will be acting as a generator. As a quick reminder, the Infiniti Emerg-E concept is powered by a 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine, which is made by Lotus, helped on the way by two electric motors, each of them generating 201 BHP, and with the petrol burner producing 47 BHP. The Emerg-E can be driven on electric power alone for 30 miles and the range is extended up to 300 miles with the petrol engine.
