The Infiniti Emerg-E Concept car had a powertrain similar to the Lotus Evora and it seems that the model was based on the British vehicle.
After being officially presented to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Infiniti Emerg-E is once again placed into the spotlights, this time with the guys at Infiniti was able to lower the concept’s development cost thanks to British technology and since most of the components are already being produced, Nissan’s luxury brand could easily manufacture the Emerg-E.
As a small reminder, the Infiniti Emerg-E was being powered by a 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors, each of them generating 201 BHP while the petrol burner was developing 47 BHP. The manufacturer said that the Emerg-E concept car can be driven up to 30 miles on electric power alone, but the range can be extended to 300 miles once the petrol unit is starting to “spin”. The design language of the Infiniti Emerg-E was first seen back in 2009 on the Essence Concept and more recently on the Etherea. If the Emerg-E makes it into production, its price is expected to be set at 150,000 USD.
