Nissan’s luxury brand Infiniti has recently announced that the Emerg-E won’t hit the production line but it will still inspire future model’s made b the company.
According to the new Infiniti boss, Johan de Nysschen, the model which will be mostly influenced by the Emerg-E concept will be the future G, which is expected to make its public debut during the 2012 Detroit Motor Show in January. Even if the Infiniti Emerg-E will never hit the production line, that doesn’t mean that its attractive lines won’t be seen on other models made by the company, and these vehicles will help future sales meet their target at 500,000 units annually.
As a quick reminder, the Infiniti Emerg-E Concept has been officially presented to the public during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and the model is powered by a 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine, which is made by Lotus, helped on the way by two electric motors, each of them generating 201 BHP, and with the petrol burner producing 47 BHP. The Emerg-E can be driven on electric power alone for 30 miles and the range is extended up to 300 miles with the petrol engine.
