Infiniti M Hybrid makes its debut image

Today, Nissan’s premium automaker – Infinity is presenting its first in-house developed hybrid, the M35 Hybrid. The new sedan, the M Hybrid, based on the Infiniti M, promises V8 performance with 4-cylinder fuel economy.
Talking about its engine, Infiniti M35 Hybrid will use the 3.5 liter V6 engine from the standard M35 sedan, but the hybrid will have in addition 68 hp from the electric engine. The car will be rear-wheel-drive with a one motor-two clutch system.
According to Infiniti, the M35 Hybrid is “electrically powered for more of the time, and at higher speeds, than conventional hybrids.”

The hybrid system, which the automaker calls the “Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid,” has the electric motor built into a 7-speed automatic transmission—eliminating the need for a torque converter and thus providing a sportier drive.
On electric power alone, the M35 hybrid is capable of reaching 62 mph, allowing the 3.5-liter V6 plenty of downtime to improve fuel economy further.
According to the test engineers, In real world testing, they have found that the M35 Hybrid is capable of driving in electric-only mode nearly 50 percent of the time.

Final performance data, including mileage, will be confirmed at later date.
