The 2017 New York Auto Show is not going to be left barren of architectural designs – at least one monolithic structure is being premiered there – in the form of the Infiniti QX80 Monograph.
The Japanese automaker has decided to catch the spotlight ahead of the actual introduction of the model during the upcoming New York Auto Show by delivering more details about the QX80 Monograph. This is not serving as a replacement for the current model, and it’s also not acting as a refresh. Instead we’re dealing with a proper design study “signaling the brand’s intention to further develop its standing in the full-size luxury SUV segment.” So, we’re naturally assuming the forthcoming next generation QX80 Monograph would be properly inspired by this prototype.
The styling elements are sleek and futuristic, but somehow manage to accentuate the QX80 Monograph’s size. We have interesting elements such as wing-like LEDs to catch our attention to the headlights, which are connected to the rear-facing cameras via trim. Hidden A and B pillars make the big SUV’s greenhouse look like one continuous form, and we expect even more details to come out once we see the back side and most importantly, the interior. “QX80 Monograph shows our concept of luxury and style on the road, and is an exploration into how we could enhance our future Infiniti offering in the luxury SUV segment,” comments Roland Krueger, President of Infiniti.
