Infiniti Q60 coupe spied completely undisguised ahead of 2016 NAIAS introduction image

The brand new Q60 coupe has been caught by the spy photographers’ cameras completely undisguised as it was being used to record promotional footage ahead of the upcoming reveal.

The premium coupe race appears to be on – the BMW 4 Series is being challenged by the newer Mercedes C-Class Coupe while Audi is preparing for the next generation A5 and Lexus is also ready to deliver an entire RC Coupe range in the near future. But Infiniti is also jumping in for a piece of the pie and we have the first pics with the model spied completely undisguised ahead of the official public introduction due for January in Detroit. We already knew what to expect given the previewing Q60 concept that was showcased during this year’s edition of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. And the rumor mill tips the production version ready in time for the 2016 edition.

The Q60 appears to have waived off some of the more spectacular bits and pieces from the concept but the overall shape and design elements have remained the same. The front is resembling of the Q50 sedan, but from the A pillar backwards everything is new and befitting of a premium coupe – sloping roofline and soaring shoulder line. The spotted car wore a “3.0t” denomination, meaning the all new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 will make its apparition. While unconfirmed, the power output should go beyond the level of the 3.5-litre V6 Hybrid which churns out 364 bhp – meaning around 400 bhp would be a safe bet for the unit.
