Infiniti Q60 Red Alpha is an appropriate concept for SEMA image

You’re not going to grow red with envy because the flashy Infiniti Q60 Red Alpha is actually a concept that previews a new accessory range that will become available on production models.

The Infiniti Q60 Red Alpha concept is meant for one thing – take those accessories to high speeds. Joke aside, there’s a stripped-out interior and even a large drag-racing parachute on the back. But the SEMA show car is mostly here to announce the upcoming availability of a new range of performance parts that will be manufactured by AMS Performance for the Red Sport 400 models – the Infiniti Q50 and Q60. The aftermarket specialists have developed the upgrades for the Red Alpha show car as well – and most of them will become available through Infiniti dealers starting next year.

MS and Infiniti have so far been quite mysterious about the engine upgrades, only letting slip the modifications took the Red Sport 400’s horsepower higher by 19 percent and its torque output by 29 percent. With the factory 3.0-liter biturbocharged V6 breathing 400 hp and 350 lb-ft, we can do the math ourselves and come out with approximately 476 hp and 452 lb-ft. AMS Performance opted for new intakes, a new intercooler, a new exhaust system, and a new calibration for the engine-management computer. Design modifications include the outlandish matte-finish red paint job, AMS Performance badges, a new adjustable carbon-fiber wing, and Bogart Racing wheels shod in Mickey Thompson drag-racing tires. Move inside and you’ll find a harness bar and two spartan carbon-fiber bucket seats.
