Nissan’s luxury brand Infiniti has released a teaser image with the upcoming QX30 which will be officially presented to the public, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere, next month.
The collaboration between Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz goes on as the Japanese based automaker will be borrowing the MFA platform in order to create the QX30. This isn’t the first time this happens as the company might have also used the same platform for the Q30 Concept, shown in Frankfurt a couple of years ago, as this is used in order to give life to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, CLA and GLA.
“Set to be revealed at Infiniti’s press conference, scheduled for 14:30 on 3 March in Geneva, the QX30 Concept aims to reignite the premium compact segment with a distinctive approach to design that looks beyond the practicality and conformity expected of the segment”, said the carmaker in its official press release.
The Infiniti QX30 will remain in a concept form for the moment but its final production version is just around the corner and it is clear that this will be aimed towards models such as the BMW X1, the Audi Q3, the Mercedes-Benz GLA and so on. Power is expected to be provided by the regular four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines, made by Daimler, where the all-wheel drive system will become available as an option. Additional details on the QX30 are limited for the moment and will be announced during the Swiss automotive event.
