Nissan’s luxury brand Infiniti has recently announced its plans to introduce the QX60 Hybrid to the 2013 New York Auto Show in a premiere, later on this month.
With the 2013 Geneva Motor Show passing by, Infiniti has chosen the New York Auto Show in order to present a new model, named the QX60 Hybrid. According to the Japanese based automaker, this will be cozy, comfortable, it won’t compromise the interior space despite being a hybrid and it will be fun to drive, amongst others. Rumors are saying that this will cost 3,000 USD more than the regular version of the QX60, which will probably take its price to just over 44,000 USD.
The new Infiniti QX60 Hybrid is basically a renamed XJ crossover which is coming with a 2.5 liter four-cylinder supercharged engine, mated to an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The 250 BHP (186 kW) produced by the powertrain are being sent to the wheels through a CVT. The model’s fuel economy is expected to increase to 26 mpg (US), which will transform the QX60 Hybrid into the most fuel efficient seven-seat vehicle in its class. Additional details on the Infiniti QX60 Hybrid remain unknown for the moment and will be announced in New York.
