Buick will make its IntelliLink in-car connectivity standard on every 2013 model year vehicle, including the redesigned Enclave luxury crossover SUV and the new Encore luxury crossover.
IntelliLink, which debuted on the 2012 Buick Verano, is meant to reduce driver distractions by allowing voice-guided commands for frequent actions. If you’restreaming music from Pandora internet radio from your phone, a voice command is all it takes to change your preferred station.
Other IntelliLink features include the ability to make and receive phone calls over the system, listen to music and get traffic and weather updates via SiriusXM radio and import media from a USB thumb drive.
“As smartphones that stream and hold music grow ever more popular, we want to ensure Buick customers have connectivity that’s both intuitive and safe to use,” said IntelliLink lead engineer Tony Kraatz.
“These updates make it easier to access the songs they love.”
Buick will also offer customers IntelliLink technology support through a Customer and Relationship Service (CARS) Infotainment Customer Support Team in Austin, Texas, which will provide one-on-one service to vehicle owners.
