Introduced – Mercedes-AMG GT S and C63 AMG S F1 Safety Car and Medical Car image

Mercedes-AMG has recently unveiled the 2015 GT S Formula 1 Safety Car and the C63 AMG S Medical Car.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT S Formula 1 Safety Car is bringing the LED light bar mounted on its roof, sitting on a carbon fiber air scoop, the a TV camera in the light bar, another one positioned on the stowage tray behind the seats, a special number plate with orange / green LEDs synchronized with the light bar and the headlights and taillights are displaying stroboscopic effect when the ride is on track. This will be driven by Bernd Maylander, the official Formula 1 Safety Car driver since 2000 and on the passenger seat Peter Tibbetts, the FIA Fuel Analyst, will sit.

The Mercedes-AMG C63 S Estate is the new Formula 1 Medical Car. This is getting a roof mounted LED light bar too, the headlights and taillights with signaling functions, the updated AMG RIDE CONTROL, the illuminated rear number plate, emergency equipment such as the defibrillator, respirator and so on, a radio system in-car hotspot and WLAN connectivity, two iPads and it has the same 4.0 liter V8 engine under its hood as its road going version. The unit is capable of producing a total output of 510 HP (375 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, allowing it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 4.1 seconds and to go up to a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). This will be driven by racing driver Alan van der Merwe and the co-driver will be Dr. Ian Roberts, the official FIA head physician.
