This might be the first leak picture of the upcoming 2016 version of the Toyota Hilux pickup, leaked courtesy of the Hilux Revo Thailand Facebook page.
The unconfirmed picture showcases the Hilux, depicted most likely thanks to a scan of a brochure or internal magazine. As with most promotional materials, the aforementioned picture is most likely showing us the upper-spec trim of the model, with the workhorse Hilux complete with fog lamps and projector headlights, as well as chromed side mirror housings. Numerous reports have shown the new Hilux wearing heavy camouflage as it undergoes the usual testing process, and now we can shed some light on the design of the model. It sports an evolutionary front fascia, though it employs a more dynamic styling with a sleeker radiator grille and distinctive-looking headlights. It also appears the model has gained a revised, larger cabin, with a bigger rear window implying the passengers will get more space.
The pickup model will be produced at Toyota’s plant in Thailand and the upgraded model is largely expected to feature updated diesel and petrol engines that will seek to enhance power delivery and reduce fuel consumption. Additionally, the rumor mill also has the Hilux turn green – not in Hulk mode – but in hybrid, aiming to brig a game-changer powertrain to the intensely fought segment.
