Is this really a Mansory? Maserati gets the restrained tuning treatment for its Ghibli sedan image

We’re used to Mansory delivering extreme, wild, off the board, crazy and generally uncompromising visual solutions when it comes to modifying vehicles. But the Maserati Ghibli update kit is a welcome departure from the usual business solution.

The very discrete, serious and thus more tasteful customization program for the Italian luxury sedan looks ready to significantly broaden the appeal of the tuner that has so far enjoyed notoriety among a very specific niche of buyers. We can see the front end where the Modena luxury sedan got a subtle two-piece spoiler lip carved out of carbon fiber and also optionally fitted with air ducts. In the back we find a new rear trunk lid spoiler and a carbon fiber manufactured diffuser. Mansory’s Trident 22-inch alloy wheels with 255/30 R22 front and 295/25 R22 rear tires complement the side of the high performance sedan and red brake calipers let the owner know safety has not been neglected.

Moving to the interior the tuner has added a different, sportier steering wheel, aluminum pedals, more leather trimming, illuminated door sills and a choice between carbon or wood looks. The visual cues are not the only ones though, with Mansory also cooking some performance enhancements. The Ghibli S 3.0-liter V6 has been taken from the stock 410 PS (301 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque to 480 PS (353 kW) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) and the Ghibli with diesel engine has jumped from 275 PS (202 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) to 310 PS (228 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft).
