The new generation of the BMW M3, codenamed the F80 and wearing the 2014 model year in its name, has apparently leaked on a Romanian automotive website.
Even if we don’t have any official details on the image above, the guys from autolatest.ro are saying that this is actually the first photo with what is now known as the 2013 BMW M3 F80. Our source is saying that the new generation of the powerful German car will make its debut in the first half of 2013, which means that it will be a 2014 model year, but autolatest.ro isn’t saying anything about the original source of the image and details.
According to the Romanian automotive website, the new BMW M3 F80 will be powered by a three-liter six-cylinder supercharged engine, which is expected to develop a total output of more than 500 horsepower and the engineers might take it closer to its larger brother, the M5, by using the same sequential seven-speed transmission. It seems that the official rumors, which were saying that the future generation of the BMW M3 will be powered by a V6 engine are starting to make sense, even if we don’t know anything for sure yet. Sadly we don’t have any more details on the 2013 BMW M3 F80.
