Isuzu has recently announced the arrival of the new D-Max in Malaysia, where the model is available to its future customers starting form RM69,799.
According to the car manufacturer, the second generation of the Isuzu D-Max will have the tough job of replacing the current long-standing model, which has been more than well received by Malaysians. The outgoing version has been offered ever since 2003, in various shapes, so the second generation was a necessity. According to the company, the second generation of the Isuzu D-Max is sharing the same platform with the Chevrolet Colorado and the model has been co-developed with the GM parent company.
The 2014 Isuzu D-Max is 5,295 mm long (+260 mm), 1,850 mm wide (+60 mm) and 1,795 mm tall (+60 mm), riding on a 3,095 mm long wheelbase (+45 mm). The ground clearance has been also increased to 235 mm by 10 mm. The brand new Isuzu D-Max is now coming with a new engine too, the 2.5 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel, which is producing a total output of 136 HP at 3,600 rpm and it has a peak torque of 320 Nm, available between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm. The model is offered with two transmissions, a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic.
