Even if we presented to you the Fiesta ST Concept, just a few days ago, which was supposed to debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show this month, Ford kept denying the model’s existence, but now it’s official and the North American based automaker will present it to the public at the event in two weeks.
The Fiesta ST is powered by the 1.6 liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine, just like the WRC Fiesta, which is generating here 178 horsepower and has a peak torque of 240 Nm. The 0 to 60 mph acceleration time takes less than seven seconds and its top speed is 140 km/h, so technically it should be a lot faster than the Renaultsport Clio with its 197 HP.
“With the Focus ST, we promised to deliver uncompromised sports performance and styling to a truly global audience for the first time. With the Fiesta ST Concept, we are demonstrating that our Global Performance Plan has legs”, as the director of performance vehicles, Jost Capito, told autoexpress.co.uk.
Even if Ford didn’t officially announce it for production, the Fiesta ST which will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month will most likely reach the showrooms sometimes next year in this shape.
