The first images and details with the 2013 BMW 1-Series three-door hatchback have hit the web and the new generation of the model has grown in size.
After the new M135i has been officially presented, the German based automaker BMW has pulled another ace from its sleeve which is the new generation of the BMW 1-Series in the three-door hatchback version. According to the car manufacturer, the length of the new 1-Series three-door hatchback has grown by 85 mm, the width by 17 mm and the wheelbase has been extended by 30 mm, which is translated into more space for the front and rear passengers of the vehicle.
BMW says that the 114i will be offered as an entry-level, with its 1.6 liter TwinPower Turbo engine, which is producing 100 horsepower and 180 Nm of torque (133 lb-ft). Next in the lineup are the 116i with its 136PS and the 125i with 218 horsepower. Diesel lovers can choose the new 116d, with its 116 PS, the 118d, with 143 PS, or the 125d, with 218 PS. The 116d version will also be available in the EfficientDynamics Edition, offering CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km. The 120d will be offered later to both the three-door and the five-door versions, and this will be the only version outside the M135i which will offer the xDrive all-wheel drive system, along with 170 PS.
