It’s official: 2013 Cadillac ATS going to NAIAS image

The North American based automotive giant General Motors has recently announced that its 2013 Cadillac ATS will be officially presented at the upcoming NAIAS.

The fact that the new Cadillac ATS will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) isn’t quite a new thing, GM’s confirmation makes the automotive industry look good one more time. Even if we don’t know too much about the 2013 Cadillac ATS, the model is expected to ride on a rear-wheel drive platform and feature a four-cylinder turbocharged engine.

“ATS is a crucial part of Cadillac’s expansion. ATS enters the biggest market segment in the global luxury car industry, both in terms of volume and importance. It’s a segment dominated by German cars, including the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4, so we’ve developed a compelling and convincing new challenger”, as the General Motors vice president of Global Product Development, Mary Barra, told Automotive Press Association on Friday.

The 2013 Cadillac ATS will most likely feature rear-wheel drive technology and it will be powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine which might be based on a 2.0 liter unit. Sadly this is all we know about the new Cadillac ATS but more details will be announced when the model will be officially presented at the next year’s North American International Auto Show.
