The iconic Italian design house Italdesign Giugiaro has recently released a teaser image with what appears to be an entirely new concept vehicle that will be premiered in front of the worldwide audience next month during the Geneva Motor Show.
No details have been presented about the prototype but we’re pretty sure nonetheless the concept will serve as the company’s strategic vision for the upcoming future of the automotive industry. By the way, the vehicle is also reportedly the first one penned under Italdesign’s new design chief ilippo Perini who took the position last year in September and before had been directing the design duties at Lamborghini. By the way, the connection is not incidental since today the design studio is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group after company founder Giorgetto Giugiaro decided to divest its last remaining stake last year in favor of Audi and leave the company.
The latest vehicle penned by the design powerhouse was last year’s Geneva Motor Show introduction – the GEA – which delivered their vision of a premium sedan that had autonomous features and took to the asphalt via humongous 26-inch alloy wheels. The prototype also received power from a roster of four electric motors taking power from a battery pack sporting inductive charging. The teaser for the vehicle coming to this year’s edition of the Swiss event seems to be a performance model and we’re also betting it will have some form of alternative powertrain.
