The North American based automaker Ford has recently announced that the Edge and the EcoSport models will soon be launched in Europe.
After being officially presented to the public at the New Delhi Auto Expo, the Ford EcoSport is entering our news once again, this time with the car manufacturer announcing its European launch. The Ford EcoSport is riding on the global B-segment platform and it was developed in South America. The model is getting a tailgate mounted spare tire, plastic body cladding and off-road inspired styling and the interior design has been “borrowed” from the Fiesta.
“The Ford EcoSport will deliver great value quality and fuel economy. It will also present customers with a fantastic small car choice that will also include the B-MAX compact multi-activity as well as new Fiesta, said the Ford Europe’s B-car vehicle line director, Nick Collins.
The Ford EcSport is coming with the SYNC connectivity, high quality materials and a symmetrical design and on its local auto market the model is coming with a choice of five engines, the 1.0 liter EcoBoost, the 1.5 liter four-cylinder Ti-VCT, the 1.6 liter four-cylinder unit, the 2.0 liter four-cylinder unit and the 1.5 liter Duratorq TDCI four-cylinder diesel.
The European version of the Ford EcoSport might or might not get the same engine lineup but these details will be offered probably next year, because the model will go on sale within the next 18 months and it will be followed by the Edge, a few years later.
