Jaguar has recently announced that the production version of the F-Type sports car will see daylight for the first time during the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September.
After starting its life a few months ago as a prototype and after it was also brought to the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the same version, the British based automaker is planning to put the model into production and the final variant of the sports car will be officially presented to the public next month during the Paris Motor Show.
“The unveiling of the F-Type in Paris will mark the company’s return to the sports car market, a market it originally helped to create”, said the Jaguar global brand director, Adrian Hallmark, in a statement.
According to the guys at europe.autonews.com, the Jaguar F-Type will bring new customers into the brand just like the Evoque did for Land Rover and the model will be aimed towards a younger audience.
“The model will be a concquest car and will appeal to a younger audience. It will bring new customers to Jaguar in the same way as the Range Rover Evoque has done for Land Rover”, said a source close to the company to Automotive News Europe.
The Jaguar F-Type will be a direct competitor to the Porsche 911 and it will be priced from 55,000 GBP. More details on the final production version of sports car will be announced next month during the French automotive event.
