Koenigsegg has recently announced its plans to make a return to the United States with the assistance of Manhattan Motorcars, located in New York City.
Koenigsegg wants to play in the big boys’ league and after officially pulling the wraps off the new One:1 hypercar, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Swedish based automaker is ending up in our news once more. According to the company’s founder, Christian von Koenigsegg, the car manufacturer will return to the United States. Manhattan Motorcars, located in New York City, will become Koenigsegg’s official dealer for the northeastern part of the country, and it will display the Agera R.
“We are truly delighted by the opportunity to work with such a passionate and well respected dealer like Manhattan Motorcars. We will do our outmost to support Manhattan Motorcars in the best possible way and are looking forward to a fruitful long-term relationship”, said Christian von Koenigsegg.
The Koenigsegg Agera R, which will be the company’s first supercar available in the United States, has been introduced back in 2011, during the Geneva Motor Show. The model had a 5.0 liter V8 engine, rated at 1,099 HP (820 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. The unit was mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, allowing the Agera R to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, before reaching a top speed of more than 390 km/h (245 mph).
