Lamborghini has officially announced its plans to pull the wraps off the Huracan Spyder at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in just a few days.
The newest model to be produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese will be the roadster version of the Huracan. The model in question has been officially announced for the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show as it will be unveiled on the 15th of September, at 12:20 PM, CET, during a special press conference. It’s not hard at all to try and figure out how the model may look like but what will come as a surprise will be its roof because while some are saying that it will be using a folding soft-top, just like the Gallardo Spyder, others are indicating towards a folding hard-top.
Besides this, and some added weight to help it cope with the chopped roof, the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder will be identical to its coupe brother, which has been shown a year and a half ago, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The supercar will be taking on the Ferrari 488 Spider and the McLaren 650S Spider and it is going to share the same 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, which is found on the regular Huracan and on the new Audi R8 generation as well. This has been carried over from the Gallardo (and not only) and it is now good for 602 HP (449 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the AWD system through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Huracan Coupe needs 3.2s to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and it can go up to 325 km/h (202 mph).
