The Italian based automaker Lamborghini has recently announced its plans to put the Urus Concept into production over the following years.
After it was officially presented to the public back in 2012, during the Beijing Motor Show, and then brought to a lot of automotive events across the globe, the Lamborghini Urus Concept is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with an announcement. According to the Audi chief Rupert Stadler, the Lamborghini SUV will be put into production over the following years. Stadler said that the model will hit the market by 2017.
Rumors are saying that the Lamborghini Urus SUV will ride on the same platform as the VW Touareg, the Porsche Cayenne, the Audi Q7 or the Bentley EXP 9 F production version. This will be made out of steel and it will help the crossover to weigh around 4,400 lbs (1,996). The final production version of the Lamborghini Urus Concept is expected to be powered by the new 6.0 liter W12 engine borrowed from Bentley, or by the smaller 4.0 liter V8. Prices for the model should be set at 200,000 USD. Additional details are limited for the moment and will be announced once the model will hit the assembly line.
