American based automaker Ford has recently announced that the Lincoln MKT Town Car will receive a new version and a new engine, in the shape of the 2.0 liter EcoBoost.
According to the car manufacturer, the new version of the Lincoln MKT, the replacement for the venerable Town Car, will receive a 2.0 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which will develop a total output of 235 horsepower and it will have a peak torque of 260 lb-ft. Ford says that the EPA rating of the new version of the Lincoln MKT will stand at 20/28/23 mpg in city/highway/combined, which is considerably better than the 17/24/19 mpg in city/highway/combined of the 3.7 liter V6 unit with 300 HP and 275 Nm of torque.
The bigger fuel economy of the larger engine isn’t just a problem with the size because the unit is being offered only with all-wheel drive, compared to the new 2.0 liter EcoBoost, which will hit the market in front-wheel drive configuration. The base price of the 2.0 liter EcoBoost MKT will be set at 49,845 USD, $1,100 less than the V6 model. More details about this new version of the Lincoln MKT will be announced in the following months.
