The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has been officially unveiled ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
After seeing the facelifted version of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the first time in an official manner just earlier today, time has come for the North American based automaker to pull the wraps off its high performance version, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. The powerful version of the SUV is coming with a different front grille, with a restyled rear spoiler, with LED headlights, with a new set of five-spoke alloy wheels and with some other tweaks which will help it stand out in a crowd.
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is coming with the same 6.4 liter HEMI V8 engine under its hood, which is producing a total output of 470 HP (350 kW) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque. The new eight-speed quick shift automatic transmission has been added to the model and this should enhance its performance and improve its fuel efficiency. The 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration is now done quicker with the new gearbox and its top speed stands at 160 mph (257 km/h). Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will probably be announced in Detroit.
