Skoda has recently pulled the wraps off the 2014 Yeti facelift, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The unveil of the “new” Skoda Yeti is coming hours only after the first leaked images with the model have made their way onto the web. The facelifted compact SUV is coming in two versions, the Yeti for the town and the Yeti Outdoor, with both of them getting a new front fascia and rear end, different alloy wheels, some tweaks in the cabin and much more.
“The SKODA Yeti is one of the most attractive compact SUVs on the market and has far exceeded our sales expectations since its launch four years ago. With this all-new look and being offered for the first time in two variations, we are establishing new benchmarks. We plan to continue our outstanding development in this rapidly growing vehicle class”, said Winfried Vahland, the Skoda CEO.
Skoda says that there are new colors available for the facelifted Yeti, like the Moon White, the Metal Grey, the Jungle Green and the Magnetic Brown, with the latter being available only for the Laurin & Klement edition. The “new” Yeti is also coming with a detachable LED light in the boot, a vest holder under the driver’s seat, a huge panoramic glass sunroof, dual-zone air conditioning, cruise control, heated windscreen, heated seats, power adjustable driver’s seat and a 405 liter boot capacity, which will increase to 1,760 liters with the rear seats removed.
As for the engine lineup, this will include the 1.2 TSI with 105 HP, the 2.0 TDI with 170 HP or the 105 HP 1.6 TDI. Depending on the version chosen, power can be sent to the front-wheel drive or the all-wheel drive through a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DSG. No pricing details have been announced yet. The 2014 Skoda Yeti facelift will be officially presented to the public next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, on September 10.
