Dacia has confirmed the leaked images of the Logan 2 and Sandero 2 but the Romanian based automaker didn’t offer any extra details on the two models.
After the first images of the second generation Dacia Logan and the second generation of the Sandero have hit the web just a day before writing this article, Dacia has decided to confirm them because this would have been the only reasonable thing to do. But even if the two models have been confirmed and the images posted in the photo gallery below are revealing their final design, the carmaker didn’t release any extra specifications of the vehicles.
“The harmonious front-end lines are shared by both new models and highlight the Dacia logo which sits boldly in the grille. The front end’s look is made even more expressive by the forms of the wide headlights and the grille. Seen from the side, the harmonious proportions of the body panels compared with the glazed surfaces reinforce the impression of robustness suggested by the sculpted waistline, more prominent wheel arches and intended flanks which are hallmarks of the entire range”, as Renault, the mother brand of Dacia, says.
The new generation of the Dacia Logan will get a three-cylinder turbocharged TCe 90 engine, which made its debut on the Twingo and Clio, with its 90 HP and 135 Nm of torque. The engine is burning an average of 4.5L of fuel every 100km. A start/stop system hasn’t been confirmed for the new Logan yet but it hasn’t been denied either.
The interior design of the new Logan generation is coming with a modified dashboard and it’s getting the same Media Nav interface from the Lodgy which is offering Bluetooth, radio, media, navigation and settings functions. The new Logan generation is also getting the same steering wheel as the Lodgy MPV, the same instrument cluster, along with redesigned front seats, a front armrest, modified door panels, new commands for the climate control, redesigned gear knob with cup holders in front of it.
The new generation of the Dacia Sandero is also similar to the Lodgy and to the Logan 2 and the model is slightly shorter than the outgoing version. In the cabin, the Sandero 2 is getting a redesigned dashboard too and the multimedia system from the Lodgy is also available. The Sandero 2 will also receive a multi-function steering wheel, Curise Control and some other interesting features. As for the engine lineup, the TCe 0.9 liter with 90 HP will be adopted too and it will be shared with the Clio, Twingo and also with the new Logan generation. More details on the two models will be announced at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on the 27th of September.
