It’s official: Meet the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG

Mercedes-Benz has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the A45 AMG, ahead of the model’s public debut scheduled for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next month.

The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG can be considered the ultimate hot hatch and the model has made its appearance for the first time almost a year ago, in concept form. But those of you interested in the model will have to wait just a little longer before being able to get behind the wheel because the German based automaker has finally unveiled it. The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG has carbon fiber exterior mirror housing, rear aerofoil, red painted calipers, AMG Performance exhaust system, AMG Performance suspension system, Exclusive Package, Night Package, Aerodynamics Package and more.

Power to the brand new Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is being provided by a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 360 HP (265 kW) at 6,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), available between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm. This is enough to allow the hot hatch to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The engine is mated to an AMG Speed Shift DCT seven-speed sports transmission which is sending power to the all-wheel drive system. The model will hit the market in July.
