The Czech based automaker Skoda has recently announced its plans to officially introduce the new generation of the Fabia this fall.
Skoda is on a production spree and after officially pulling the wraps off the facelifted Superb, the new generation of the Octavia in all of its body styles and after rumors on a brand new model have surfaced, the car company has decided to release the first details on the new Fabia generation. According to the car manufacturer, the future Skoda Fabia generation will be introduced this fall, but the sales plans for this model haven’t been made public just yet.
“The ŠKODA Fabia achieved sales of 202,000 units last year. 240,500 of this model were sold in 2012. The launch of the brand new ŠKODA Fabia is set for Autumn 2014”, said the carmaker in its official press release.
The second generation of the Skoda Fabia has been in production since 2007 and it’s also known as the Fabia Jungrui, the Fabia 5J or the Fabia MG. The model in question is currently being assembled in the Czech Republic, in India, in China, Ukraine and in Kazakhstan. The outgoing Skoda Fabia is offered in two body styles, 5-door hatchback and 5-door estate and it’s riding on the VW Group A04 platform, being related to the VW Polo, Seat Ibiza, Seat Cordoba, Skoda Roomster or Skoda Rapid.
