We’ve been teased on more than one occasion and we even heard rumors two of the leading hosts don’t get along, but all in all the reworked Top Gear show is ready for a new series, premiering on May 29th.
The new season features Chris Evans, Chris Harris, Matt LeBlanc, Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, and Rory Reid, as well as the mysterious The Stig as the leading hosts – following last year’s abrupt departure of the usual trio made of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Now the BBC has announced the highly anticipated TV show has been scheduled to return in the UK on May 29. The former trio also noticed us recently that their Amazon Prime show finally has a name – The Grand Tour – with the hosts signed on for a three-season series starting this fall.
Back to the new look and feel of the Top Gear, the magic is expected to carry over with Chris Evans, Chris Harris, Matt LeBlanc, Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, and Rory Reid. The details are still kept secret but the BBC has shared with us the new hosts have traveled to nine different countries over the past eight months and have more than 7,500 miles between them. We already know among the adventures we’ll get to see the Ariel Nomad in the Moroccan desert, the Dodge Viper in the United States or the incredible Aston Martin Vulcan being driven “flat out” at the Abu Dhabi GP circuit. There are also “mundane” vehicles to choose from: Ford Mustang, Jagur F-Pace or the Mercedes Benz GLC.
