The Chinese automakers have started the enticement game as we’re slowly building up expectations for the Beijing Motor Show which kicks off later this month.
The most striking of the two concepts is for sure the Chery FV2030. We have here a coupe that adopts interesting design cues – though most likely as always these teasers actually bend reality a little bit. But the prototype should still remain interesting so we’re now quite ready to see if it delivers on the promising attitude. Anyways we’re also pretty much happy the Chinese automaker didn’t copy anyone on this one and as far as we know the company said this is a practical four-door version, even though in the attached renders the FV2030 doesn’t actually have a visible entry point. We can still treat is as a crossover coupe – though the suspension doesn’t seem to be really up for off-roading – with the prototype having large alloys, plastic cladding on the wheel arches, and a sporty front end. We’re treated here to an electric powertrain with an energy recuperation system built into the wheels.
The other concept, from JAC, is way less interesting – but it will actually be used as a preview of a production series model that will come to life next year. The “SC5” is foreshadowing a midsize SUV and as far as we can see it will come with lots of Led details. The JAC SC5 is rumored to pack a hybrid powertrain, though the series model will get conventional turbocharged 1.5- and 2.0-liter mills with up to 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts).
