The British automaker has recently presented its latest upgrades for the model roster of 2018 and among the enhancements we can also cite a very interesting app developed with Shell.
Next to the arrival of new 2.0-liter Ingenium gasoline and diesel engines for the XE, XF and F-Pace, Jaguar also listed as a novelty the introduction of a new special application for mobile devices, developed with Shell. The idea is that you don’t have to get out of your car when refueling because you can make cashless payments at Shell gas stations. First availability will be at home, of course, where the app can hook to PayPal or Apple Pay – Android Pay will be added later on this year.
Jaguar makes it comfortable to refill – an electronic receipt will appear on the display and the driver won’t even have to go out of the car. “In a world where cash is no longer king, customers are increasingly using electronic payments and contactless cards,” said Peter Virk, Jaguar Land Rover’s Director of Connected Car and Future Technology. The app can be used in the UK by any customer that has a model equipped with Jaguar InControl Apps – and the same is valid for the Land Rover cars with the so-called Land Rover InControl Apps.
