The first images with the production Jaguar F-Pace SUV are showing the new model being tested.
There is no surprise anymore that Jaguar is currently working on its first SUV because the model in question has been already teased, just a few days ago, and it was referred to as the F-Pace. The brand new addition to the company’s lineup is basically a production version of the C-X17 Concept and we all remember the appealing lines of the model, something we cannot say about other vehicles in the segment.
The Jaguar F-Pace has been described as “the ultimate practical sports car” by global sales director Andy Goss and rather than being called an SUV or a crossover, Jaguar is currently referring to it as its “family sports car”. The model will be sharing the lightweight platform of the XE compact sedan, the new rival for the 3-Series, A4, C-Class, ATS and so on and it will be aiming, probably, towards the X3, the GLK or the Q5.
Some of the engines of the XE are expected to make their way under the hood of the model. The production version of the Jaguar C-X17 will be going on sale probably in 2016 but it will be making its public debut at either the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September, or even at NAIAS, in 2016 or the Geneva automotive event of the same year. More details on the Jaguar F-Pace are limited at the moment and will be kept a secret until its unveil.
