The Jaguar F-Type has been recently awarded with the 2013 World Car Design of the Year, during the 2013 New York Auto Show.
During the same ceremony, held during the 2013 New York Auto Show, where the Volkswagen Golf 7 has been named the 2013 World Car of the Year, the Jaguar F-Type has managed to “win” the 2013 World Car Design of the Year trophy, after beating the Mazda6 and the Aston Martin Vanquish. The F-Type has been voted by 66 journalists from 23 countries.
“No design project has given me greater pleasure than the creation of the F-Type. It’s a project I’ve looked forward to from the moment I joined Jaguar, and it’s one that’s given my team and I great satisfaction. The F-Type is a sports car that is true to Jaguar’s design values – beauty of line and purity of form – and I’m honored that the World Car of the Year Design jury has recognized our work with this award”, said Ian Callum, the Jaguar Director of Design.
As a quick reminder, the Jaguar F-Type has been priced from 69,895 USD in the U.S., for the entry-level version. This is getting a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 engine, producing 340 HP and 332 lb-ft of torque, enough for a 0 to 60 mph sprint of 5.1 seconds and a 161 mph top speed. The F-Type V6 S is getting a 3.0L V6 with 380 HP under its hood and the F-Type V8 S a 5.0L V8 with 495 HP and 460 Nm of torque.
