Jaguar F-Type with AWD planned for L.A. Auto Show image

Jaguar is planning to introduce an all-wheel drive version of the F-Type sports car later on this year, during the 2014th edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Rumors on Jaguar working on an all-wheel drive version of the impressive F-Type have been around for quite a few months now but it seems that the development of such a model is far more advanced than we originally thought. According to a report published by the British based automaker will be introducing the all-wheel drive variant of the F-Type at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, later on this year.

Our source is stating that the added all-wheel drive means that a bulging hood will be added to the sports car to accommodate the differential and the front drive shaft. This variant means that in countries where a real winter kicks in at least once a year, the F-Type will suddenly become interesting to people looking for a new toy. The engine lineup of the model will be carried over and this means that we can expect the same 6- and 8-cylinder units. More details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced in L.A.
